[Nikko Kasei] Bringing together diverse ideas and skills to develop materials that have never existed before

  • このエントリーをはてなブックマークに追加

Nikko Kasei is a "material development manufacturer" that creates materials with new functions by "blending" multiple resins. Our unique "compounding technology" = blending different raw materials to create "composite materials" that have never existed before, combining high insulation, low dielectric properties, chemical resistance, heat resistance, anti-static properties, and more.

Materials enter a new stage

Our basic electric insulation technology and composite materials based on this technology started with NICOLITE laminates and evolved into the heat-resistant series with superior heat resistance and insulation. Now we have released a new series of elastomers with superior heat dissipation properties.

Rosunaboard" with outstanding heat insulation properties even at high temperatures / "CALLITE", an ultra-lightweight heat-resistant and insulating material with a specific gravity of 1.0
Rosuna Board" (above image, left)
Rosunaboard is the highest grade of our heat-resistant board products, and is a long-selling product launched in 1982. This product is the very starting point of our company.

CALRITE" (above image, right)
The "Shinkansen" is a "crystal of technological strength" that is the pride of Japan. The control unit of the Shinkansen uses CALLITE, which was originally developed by Nikko Kasei, as an insulating material. While maintaining the same electrical characteristics and strength, CALLITE is half the weight of conventional products, making it suitable for high-speed running.

Magnetic laminates" that simultaneously achieve insulation and high magnetic permeability / "Rosnagel sheets" with high heat dissipation and flexibility
Magnetic Laminates" (upper image, left)
Magnetic laminates are highly functional laminated materials that are completely different from conventional insulating materials, taking full advantage of the laminate technology that Nikko Kasei has been researching for more than half a century.
By using it as a wedge material for the stator of generators, induction motors, etc., it is possible to increase power through higher efficiency, save energy, and achieve compact and lightweight designs. It can also be used as a magnetic shield material.

Rosnagel Sheet" (upper image, right)
As electronic devices become denser and thinner, it is necessary to reduce the influence of heat generated from components. The highly flexible "Losnagel Sheet" is placed between the components and effectively conducts the generated heat to the cooling system (e.g., heat sinks). The sheet, which also has excellent electrical insulation, is ideal for thermal protection of various electronic devices.

Creating next-generation technologies, a new challenge

In addition to the above series of self-developed products, we promote joint development through "open innovation," in which we actively utilize external resources for R&D and product development, and "industry-government-academia consortiums" involving university research laboratories. We are developing new materials and products.
We do not only research and develop new materials. We are a one-stop shop for designing, processing, molding, and making parts from the materials we develop in order to maximize their potential. By finishing them as "finished products" based on appropriate materials, we meet the needs of a wide variety of fields, including medical, automotive, vehicle, ship, aviation, and semiconductor industries.

Technical innovation by utilizing partnerships with specialized organizations. Promote contributions to the local community.

Nikko Chemical has two research centers in Osaka and Shiga that support its development technologies. The Shiga facility is in charge of materials development in various fields, while the Osaka facility is responsible for development in the medical and biotechnological fields. While refining our unique core technologies, we develop high value-added materials in collaboration with public institutions such as industrial technology centers in each region, major companies, and local universities.

Such community-based research activities have been recognized,
In 2018, we were named a "Regional Future Leading Company" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry,
In 2019, we were selected as one of the "300 Small and Medium Enterprises" by the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency,
Osaka Prefecture's "Osaka Monozukuri Excellent Company Award" in 2019,
In 2021, we were selected as one of the "Excellent Health Management Corporations 2021" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

We will continue to contribute to the community and society, and aim to be a "future-oriented company" capable of further technological innovation.
