Agreement on Cooperation between Singapore and Kansai to Contribute to the Creation of Innovation in Both Southeast Asia and Japan

The Kansai Economic Federation, which operates the ABC Platform (ABCP), Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corporation, the project manager of the ABCP Startup Subcommittee, and East Japan Railway Company, which owns One & Co, a co-working facility located in the Tanjong Pagar area of Singapore. Southeast Asia Development, which owns One&Co, a co-working facility located in the Tanjong Pagar area of Singapore, have signed an "Agreement on Cooperation and Collaboration for Innovation Creation in Both Singapore and Kansai".

Efforts to date by each party



One&Co is a coworking facility in Singapore operated by JR East Southeast Asia Business Development, and has received high acclaim for its facilities and good community network of users.

In order to strengthen two-way connections with Asia and the rest of the world and achieve economic development together, Kansai Economic Federation will reach out to economic organizations in seven Asian countries to establish ABCP in April 2019, which will promote collaboration among companies and related organizations in each country and lead to business creation, and will establish seven thematic groups, including agriculture, tourism, and startups Working groups have been established in seven thematic sections, including agriculture, tourism, and startups.

Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corporation, as a project manager of the Startup Subcommittee in the ABCP from 2020, is working to promote collaboration among companies and organizations in Asian countries in areas such as human resources, technology, and services, and to create businesses.

Aim of the Agreement


The purpose of this agreement is to promote the formation of a business community between Kansai and Singapore, and to create new business opportunities between Kansai and Singapore by utilizing the network and expertise cultivated through ABCP's efforts to date.

Specifically, on the Singapore side, One&Co will appoint a full-time advisor to serve as a receptacle for startups recommended by ABCP, etc., providing co-working space and introducing Singaporean companies.
On the other hand, in the Kansai region, Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corporation will host startups from Singapore at its startup support facility "GVH#5" (owner: Hankyu Corporation) in Umeda, Osaka, and other ABCP-related facilities, and will provide various support such as introductions to companies in the Kansai region. We will also provide various support services such as company introductions in the Kansai region.
Kankeiren will also support the overseas expansion of Kansai companies, especially start-ups, through ABCP and other activities. In addition, the ABCP's corporate network will be utilized to support the growth of Singaporean companies in the Kansai region.
