Indonesian and Japanese startups explored new business opportunities between the two countries in this online event organized by the Consulate-General of Indonesia in Osaka and the Kankeiren ABC Platform.

The Consulate General of Indonesia in Osaka and the Kankeiren ABC Platform hosted the first Indonesia-Kansai Digital Startup Business Meeting on November 25, 2020. Consul General Mirza Nurhidayat opened the event by stating that "Indonesia's population is expected to reach 300 million by 2025, when the digital market will be worth US$130 billion, which is a promising market. He also introduced Kankeiren's attempts to create new businesses in Asia, and expressed his hope that the event would be a success and would be continued in the next edition. In the first part of the event, eight startups from Indonesia and Japan gave pitches, and in the second part, 10 business meetings were held with requests for interviews solicited in advance. Through these efforts, the Kankeiren ABC Platform is committed to creating new businesses between ASEAN and Japanese companies.

Sagri is a startup with technology for "farmland visualization" using satellite data x AI x GRID. The company is working to solve food and environmental problems facing humanity by utilizing grid-like surface data from space, satellite data, and big data obtained from the ground, and is proposing solutions to social issues by combining soil analysis, machine learning, image recognition, and other technologies.

AC Biode has a decentralized, low-temperature carbonization technology for mixed organic and plastic waste. Compared to recycling, incineration, or pyrolysis, this process does not require waste transportation and does not emit dioxins or greenhouse gases because it is done on-site.
